Lacy Smock

I knit this in preparation for my neice's birthday in October.  A lovely free pattern from Let's Knit Magazine

It seems a little wide, but it may just be loose fitting.

Need to block it now.

All set up and ready to go!

My first outdoor market,a charity event for the cardiac unit in Crumlin Children's Hospital.

Baby Owlet Vest

I've knit this before and really liked the pattern.  DH's friend's kid is being christened in a few weeks so I knit this up for him.

Enjoy it Baby Harry!

Free Pattern - Fat Owl

I promised this pattern a long time ago.

Typed while I was tired, and the applique instructions are pretty slim so mail me if you have any questions!

Dying some fabric

While making another little owlet this evening Emily asked if I would make her a toy.  I haven't made her a new one in a while, most things are being saved for markets or have been ear-marked for presents.

So I asked her what she wanted.  And she requested ...

A fairy.  With blonde hair.  Brown skin.  Different colour clothes.  A rainbow fairy!

I don't have any suitable brown fabric for the skin so when she went to bed I concocted this mix of tea, water and fabric.

Hope it works (fingers crossed!)

Owlet and Blankie

Meet Mochuelo - so named as its the Spanish word for an owlet, and I stitched this little guy while watching the European Cup final, which Spain won.

The pattern for the owlet is from Dolls and Daydreams.  Its a well written pattern, very easy to follow.

For the little tag blanket I just crocheted a square with cotton, and then sewed on ribbons and fabric with the machine.

I love this doll!

DH has taken the kids out for an hour or two so time for some frantic sewing!

I had the body of this doll made ages.  So I took her out.  Embroidered her face, did her hair and then started to dress her.
I had no plan as to how I'd finish her, but I just love how she turned out.  She's a real little hippie chick!

Finishing!

I've had this dress upstairs in a box for over a year (I definitely started this one way before Oliver was born - may be more like 2 years!).  All it needed was to be hemmed, the skirt and underskirt.

So I finally fished it out and did it - and do you know what, it didn't take that long!

Just need some nice sunny weather so I can wear.  Although with the wettest June since records began in Ireland, it might be a while til we see some sun!!

The Crochet-Buzz Continues

Along with some dress-making!

I  made a simple little shift dress with some Cath Kidston fabric I've had for quite a while.  I added a little pocket to the front for carrying my phone, tissue, etc

Then, feeling it needed something extra, I crocheted a little edging along the bottom, and along the top of the pocket.  I just made it up as I went along but think it looks okay!

Cute Crochet Crown

Using this pattern, found through Ravelry.  A very easy pattern, and so quick to make - I did this while Oliver was up for his morning nap.
