Miss Aine

Felt like it took ages to knit, but it actually didn't.  I quite like the black and grey.  Not your typical colours for a small boy but it suits him.  He looks a bit of a thug in this pic!

The latest knitting project, on the go the last week or so, was a little sweater for Oliver. I saw the pattern 'A Little Pick Me Up' in the new patterns on Ravelry and just had to have it - knitted top-down and in dk weight yarn.  My kind of sweater! The pattern was easy to follow and really well written.  The yoke has wrapped sts that are dropped and carried down the yoke.  I would not do these again as they pull the rows up a bit, but that may be due to my technique rather than the pattern. Poor little Oliver.  I knit the 18 month size which is the smallest in the pattern and it fits him, and he only 8.5 months. I think he likes it!

Another quick knit for Oliver - The Pebble Vest . Another easy to follow pattern, that uses very little yarn. It only just fits him though, so if I make more I'll have to go up a needle size or two, or cast on some more stitches.

None of the hats I had for Oliver seemed to stay on his head so this hat : The Cabled Flying Helmet by Sublime , was a quick knit to get his head covered for outdoor excursions.
