Ballerina

Found these photos on the camera and realised I'd never put up a picture of the ballerina in her outfit.

I have a very happy little girl!

Fairy Princess Party

Image
For Emily and two of her friends (one had to drop out due to illness) Emily blowing out the candle. The dressed up as fairy princesses, with wands, wings and crowns made from sparkly card. Some bashing of balloons (which were hanging from the ceiling) - a very important fairy past-time. And some fairy dancing - to The Nutcraker! It was a lovely day and I had a very tired little girl this evening!

Greenilocks!

So named by Emily. Now she has clothes - I quite like her.

Inspiration from Emily

Image
Emily's drawing My version, drawn out to make a pattern from.  And beautifully coloured by Emily! The initial doll, whose first attempt leg I posted a few weeks ago.  Her legs and feet look much better now!

Happy Valentine's Day

(Emily's blue cardie was girl-ied up last night with some pink buttons and mulit-coloured felt hears)

Lots of WIPs

Image
Another WIP post - really must start getting the time to finish some of these projects! This time a cardigan for Emily.  I realised about a week ago that we were missing her two zip-up hoodies.  That's what I get for not writing her name on the tags and then sending her off to playschool.  She'd had them a while though so its not a huge loss. But, it did spur me on to make her a new cardigan. I knew I had some chunky wool so I searched Ravelry for a suitable pattern, something quick and easy. And I found Keiju by Lilia Mankki ( english version )  There is a slight typo in the English version so I messed up the ribbing on the collar a bit, but I don't think Emily will mind.  I also made the body a bit longer, and added longer sleeves as this is to be a cover-up cardigan.  And it gets chilly here in Ireland! I've finished the knitting part now and am waiting on buttons which I ordered from eBay.  Then I have to work some magic with embroidery o...

Cake Time!

Image
It's DH's birthday today so myself and Emily made a cake. Emily was chief decorator! (Isn't she getting big. So grown up)

Quick Dress

Image
Stole stitch amount from this pattern . Knit with lovely cotton from Lidl which feels so nice when knit! Finished with some fabric from her granny.

Same Smile Panda

Image
While playing on the CBeebies website one day I noticed that they had a pattern for how to make 'Same Smile' Panda. Emily loves the programme 'Same Smile' so it was a no brainer of a project. The shape of the pattern is a little simplistic, but she likes it all the same.

Cuteness!

Still working on the seahorse so no new craft projects to write about. Was talking to one of my friends yesterday and she says that she saw really simple little keepsake quilts for babies for €50 each. Maybe I should go into production! Here's a little picture of Smem to brighten the day. She's a little out of sorts still - what with the teeth and more immunisation shots today. Poor thing!

Teething Problems

Image
First - the crafts. Still doing only the seahorse in a bid to get it finished. Starting to feel a bit better about it as it actually looks like I've done something now. Although I feel like I'm over half way through it will probably take me ages to get it done still. And next - Little Emily. Well someone is starting to get awful pains in their gums. At least I hope its that because if not then she really does not like me! I've been trying everything under the sun to give her some respite - rattles kept in the fridge to chew on, calpol (the old favourite!), and Teetha (powdery granules that I drop into her mouth). And of course lots of love and hugs. Not easy when she's been screaming for over an hour. I just have to remember what all the books say - 'ITS JUST A PHASE!'

Finished Molly's dress. She is just the cutest now. And Emily seems to like her. I'll have to make another and try it on Etsy to see if it would sell. Still haven't sold anything - boo!

Dolly!

Image
Well I'm trying to do better at actually taking pictures of Emily so that I have lots of memories. Also, we got two scrapbooks when she was born so need to have a few photos to put into them. Here's a picture of Smem when she was playing with her dad yesterday. Inspired by Burdastyle.com, I started to make a doll last night for Smem. Worked out a pattern for the body last night. Had to try the legs and arms twice as I found it too hard to turn the first set inside out. She doesn't look too bad! Think she will be called Molly. Started making a dress for her today so that involved more pattern making. MOLLY!

Long time no posting

Image
Long time no posting! I have been so busy. Emily is staying awake more during the day so it means I have less time to do stuff. I made another mat to send to Irene for baby Kate. Actually made this one to a decent size so sent it off in the post last week. It's called 'Cute As A Button'. I think it works quite well and it will definitely be one that I make again. Went to Wexfored with Emily last week on Monday with my mother and came back on the train on Wednesday. All went well. My goddaughter came to visit - little Rhianna. Below is a picture of her with our cat at home, Mush. She absolutely loves him but he doesn't feel quite the same about her! And here's a picture of my sister, Katie, with Emily in the kitchen. As usual I forgot to take many photos so I only have a few from the kitchen. And finally, the christening day. It went really well. There were loads of people and Emily was good as gold. She was passed from person to person all afternoon and never gave...
