Crochet Tea Set

Image
One of Emily's friends asked me recently if I'd knit her a tea-set for her birthday. So I obliged, But with a crochet version. Hope she liked it! I used this pattern from Ravelry http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/dreamy-days-tea-set

A Christmas present for me!

Image
I been working so hard making toys and knitting clothes - I'm only starting on some of my Christmas presents now.  How bloody late is that! So I though I would treat myself.  I've loved Julie's toys for so long and was so happy when she finally published some this year. http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/boy-bunny-with-a-piebald-patch I bought both the girl and boy bunny patterns.  And I think I'll be getting more - the fox looks pretty cool! Not sure when I'll get time to knit them though!!!!

Tatty Teddy

Image
A customer asked if I could knit a Tatty Teddy for her grand-child. Here is my first attempt, without any embellishments. I now need to try size it up. He's about 8" but she asked for one about 12". Found the pattern for this on Ravelry (sorry, no link as I'm doing this post via my phone!). The pattern is bi-lingual, French and English. The knitting part is written pretty well but the making up instructions are pretty sparse so it's definitely not a pattern for beginners.

Brioche Infinity Scarf

Image
http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/brioche-infinity-scarf I knit this from a pattern I found on Ravelry. I used Aldi Aran weight yarn and 6.5 mm needles. It's beautifully squishy and soft. It's for a friend for Christmas, but I want one for me too now. And so does DH!

Another Pattern!

Image
I know I posted a picture of this weeks ago - apologies for the delay to anyone waiting on it. The Cool Kids - boy and girl variations  buy now   This pattern is sort of a recipe.  I've written out the basic body and the instructions for all the embellishments - hats, skirts, etc.  You can then go ahead and add your own colours, spots, stripes, whatever! It's definitely one to have fun with. Enjoy!

The Sleepy Princess

It only took half the night (stupid annoying, tempremental computer) but my new pattern is finally typed up and available for purchase. Meet Anna-Beth. She's 15 inches/38cm tall, knit with dk yarn and 2.75mm and 3.5mm needles.  Her dress and shoes are removable, adding to the play.  And she has a special little mousie friend that can fit in her pocket! The pattern is available for sale through Ravelry for 3 euro.   buy now But for anyone willing to wait, I'll email a free copy to one lucky reader.  Just leave a little comment on the blog post (including contact details).  On Sunday night the random number generator will select one lucky winner. Spring Bag

Image
A friend asked for a 'Spring' bag. So after a bit of perusing on Ravelry I settled on ' Satchel Grande ' from Lion Brand Yarn. I used two strands of aran weight yarn and 8mm needles so I think its a bit smaller than the original, but that worked for me. Lined inside, with pockets. Ties on the side to stop the back looking too bulky!

African Flower Purse

Image
Keeping up my attempts to get presents made well in advance, so that I'm not panic knitting! This is the African Flower Purse , a free crochet pattern I found through Ravelry. It was a well written pattern, and very easy to follow, even for a novice crocheter like me.  I lined it with a navy fleece and added a spotty pocket.

Ballerina

Image
Found these photos on the camera and realised I'd never put up a picture of the ballerina in her outfit.

Ballerina Goodies

Image
Haven't blogged in a while - oops!  I have been crafting the whole time,. just keep forgetting to take pictures.  Or I remember when the kids are gone to bed, and then its too dark to get good photos. Last weekend I was away with DH - the folks looked after the kids.  DH was down in Cork for work so I got the train down on the Friday afternoon.  Three hours of uninterrupted knitting - oh yes! So over the weekend, and finished on the Monday night was the ballet wrap cardigan . Then I quickly made some little legwarmers . Now my little ballerina just needs a leotard - ha ha!!
