Doll and Dress Gift Combo

Image
On a bit of a go-slow this week as I have a really bad cold. It's just one big snot-fest. Yuk! I have managed to finish this little dress and doll combo. And added it to my etsy shop www.missaine.etsy.com It's €45 for the two items, which is pretty good value, if I do say so myself ;)

Book and Toy present

One of my cousins has a daughter the same age as Emily and even though they live a good few hours away from us, the girls always get on great when they meet. For her birthday I got a book of Rapunzel, and decided to knit a little matching doll. I'm quite pleased with how it turned out! I used my free Lilly pattern as the base.

The Miss Aine Elsa!

Image
Emily is obsessed with 'Frozen' at the moment. So I decided to make a version of Elsa using my large rag doll pattern. She went to bed quite happy!

New ideas

Image
I've wanted to make a mermaid doll for a while now, so yesterday I drafted up a pattern based on my larger rag doll pattern. I used nice shiny green fabric for the tail. Then Emily suggested giving her red hair so she'd look like Ariel from The Little Mermaid. Now she just needs a face and some embellishments to finish.

Personalised Rag Doll

Image
A friend requested a small rag doll for a baby present. It has the baby's name embroidered on a bib to make it extra personal.

Da Da Dah!

Finally! The new pattern is finally typed up, double-checked, and up for sale.  Phew! buy now Meet Sandrine For sale through the Ravelry link above for 3euro.  Also for sale through my Etsy shop, but not as an instant download as the file is too large due to the photos.

The Sleepy Princess

Image
DH took the kids out this afternoon to give me a break, so I got some typing of patterns done. For sale now is 'The Sleepy Princess', just 3 euro of the pattern.  The finished doll is 14" tall, and she's lovely and soft.  Perfect for taking to bed. buy now through Ravelry.

Finished Flower-Girl Dolls

Image
I'd had an order recently through Facebook for three Rag-Dolls to be carried by flowergirls at a wedding next summer, 2014 (a very organised bride!) It was a very fun project to work on and I'm glad to say they made it to Scotland unharmed - I'm always a little apprehensive sending stuff I've spent hours working on off in the post. The dolls were to be similar but different so I selected one colour for each from the flower-y fabric, which is the fabric for the flower-girls' dresses. Each skirt is embroidered with the name of the flower-girl and the date of the wedding. Just wish I'd thought of this idea for my own wedding!

Circus Girl

A little Rag Doll I whipped up last week. Very happy with how she turned out.

A Fairy and her Fairy Doll

Image
I made makeshift wings for Emily's doll, on request.  And they both got the same hairdos - this is apparently a Tinkerbell hairdo. Must make a little pattern for the wings.  They're removable and so can be used on most of her toys.

Another new addition to the shop

I have a very happy little girl!

I love this doll!

Image
DH has taken the kids out for an hour or two so time for some frantic sewing! I had the body of this doll made ages.  So I took her out.  Embroidered her face, did her hair and then started to dress her. I had no plan as to how I'd finish her, but I just love how she turned out.  She's a real little hippie chick!

Sukie

Image
I bought this little crochet pattern a few weeks ago but hadn't gotten around to making it til now. Meet Sukie. She got at the cakes, and now she has a fat tummy!

Greenilocks!

So named by Emily. Now she has clothes - I quite like her.

SMS Giveaway Day!

Image
Just in time for Christmas - the Sew Mama Sew Giveaway Day. Up for grabs is the beautiful Aliona, a vision in pink. This little gal is handknit by me, in acrylic yarn so she's easily washed.  Her hair is sewn on rather than knitted so she would not be suitable for kids under 3 years of age.  Her clothes cannot be removed. To win this lovely dolly just leave a comment with some form of contact detail.  A winner will be chosen at random on Dec 16th and I'll pop her in the post as soon as I can so you hopefully have her for Christmas (international entries are welcome). Click on the button below for a link back to the SMS website so you can check out all the other brilliant giveaways - and there are some lovely ones.

Another Rosie

Image
Another dolly made with the Rosie the Ragdoll pattern.  I really like the colours of this one, she's a bit more traditional.  Maybe she won't sell and I'll get to keep her!

Aliona

Image
Meet Aliona - a version of my free pattern Lily .  I knit her in the round on dpns, did her legs 10 rows shorter and her arms just 36 rows in total.  Her dress is also shorter. She's called Aliona as she reminds of the dancer of the same name from 'Strictly Come Dancing' on the BBC - think its the hair colour!

Rosie the Rag Doll

Image
I was sent a pattern by one of my regular customers a few months ago, and just got around to making up the doll - Rosie the Rag Doll .  Its a free pattern on the web so give it a go.  A really simple design and its really quick to put together.  A few hours and you have a complete doll - i'd say only 2-3 hours if you had no distractions. This one I think will be destined for the market on Sunday.  Might try make another 1 or 2 before then.

A Mermaiden

Image
Another doll from the Wee Wonderfuls book. I think this one caught Smem's eye as it was pink in the book, so had to make sure I made her a pink one too - although there are lots of lovely colour variations on Flickr. You should have seen her face when I gave it to her - priceless!
