Looks like it would be easy to use some fluffy yarn on the body sections, then you could make a pair: "before and after shearing" :-D

Oh these are nice. Simple, sweet. Just right for a child's set of farm animals. How did my friend describe the category I am trying to brign to mind, "You want something that won't be a TRAGEDY if it comes to grief."

I keep trying to make my own patterns too complicated - and I need to learn a whole lot more about writing them out.
